NOTIFICATION OF RIGHTS FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE

You have the right to ask the court for the following help on a temporary basis:

1. Keeping your attacker away from you, your home, and your place of work.
2. The right to stay at your home without interference from your attacker.
3. Getting custody of your children and obtaining support for yourself and your minor children if your attacker is legally required to provide such support.
4. Professional counseling for you, the children who are members of the household, and the defendant.

You have the right to seek help from the court to seek a Protective order with or without the assistance of legal representation. You have the right to seek help from the courts without payment of court costs if you do not have sufficient funds to pay costs.

You have the right to file criminal charges for threats, assaults, or other related crimes.

You have the right to seek restitution against your attacker from harm to yourself or your property.

If you are in need of medical attention, you have the right to request that an officer present assist you in obtaining transportation to the nearest hospital or otherwise assist you.

If you believe that police protection is needed for you physical safety, you have the right to request that the officer present remain at the scene until you and other affected parties can leave or until safety is other wise ensured.





NOTIFICACION DE DERECHOS PARA ICTIMS DE ABUSE DOMESTICO

Usted tiene el derecho a pedir en la Corte la siguiente ayuda, en bases temporales:

1. El derecho de mantener a su agresor lejos de usted, de su casa y de su trabajo.
2. El derecho de permanecer en su casa sin interferencea de parte de su agresor.
3. El derecho de obtener custodia de sus hijos y manutención para usted y sus hijos y menores de edad, si su agresor esta legalmente obligado a proveer tal manutención.
4. Servicios de Consesero Profesional para usted, los niños que viven en su hogar (casa) y el demandado.

Usted tiene el derecho de pedir ayuda de la corte para obtener una orden de protección con o sin la assistencia de representación legal. Usted tien el derecho de pedir ayuda de la corte sin pagar el costo de la corte (gastos de termites) si usted no tiene suficientes fondos para pagar los costos.

Usted tiene el derecho de hacer cargos criminales por Amenazas, asaltos y otros delitos relacionados (de la misma naturaleza.

Usted tiene el derecho de pedir restitucion por parte de su atacante, por danos cometidos sobre usted o su propiedad.

Si usted necesita tratamiento medico, usted tiene el derecho a requerir que el policia presente lo (a) ayuda a obtener transportacion al hospital mas cercano o a ayudarle de alguna otra forma.

Si usted considera que proteccion policiaca es necesaria para su seguridad, usted tiene el derecho de requerir que el policia presente permanesca en el lugar de la escena hasta que usted y cualquier otra persona o personas afectadas puedan irse o hasta que su proteccion este asegurada.
