Currently the department has five full time deputies that work the road. They are responsible for all phases of law enforcement throughout the 400 plus square miles of Winnebago County. Deputies live in Winnebago County while they protect and serve their community.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office is involved in Iowa Law Enforcement Intelligence Network (LEIN), the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC), and the North Iowa Narcotics Task Force. We have been involved in the past with these organizations, and will now push to utilize these organizations to protect our community.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office also has a Farm/Security Check Program. For more information on this program, please contact the Sheriff's Office directly at 641-585-2828.
