A Message From Sheriff Jenson

As Sheriff of Winnebago County, I commit myself to honorably perform my duties with respect for the dignity of all Winnebago County Residents. I will apply wisdom, common sense, and fairness in all that I do. My goals are simple. I will always be honest, work as hard as I can, learn as much as I can, and hopefully make a difference in people's lives. We, as a Department, will lead the fight to prevent crime and injustice. We will enforce the law fairly and defend the rights of all. Partnered with the people of the county we serve, we will promote public safety within our communities.

Mission Statment

It is the mission of the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office to provide public safety through professional and proactive law enforcement. It is our goal to maintain the public trust through the highest standards of performance, ethics, and integrity.

Winnebago County and the following cities: Forest City, Lake Mills, Buffalo Center, Thompson, Rake, Scarville and Leland have contracted with Emergency Communications Network, Inc., of Ormond Beach, Florida, for its "CodeRED" high-speed telephone emergency notification services. Notifications may include such things as natural disaster information, evacuation notices, terrorism threats, and missing children, or missing elderly information.
